Palm Sunday (March 25)

We will have Mass at our regular times (Saturday 4:30pm, Sunday 11am & 6pm).

The Liturgy begins with the blessing of Palms outside the Church. We proclaim the Gospel narrative of Jesus's entry into Jerusalem and then we live the story, processing back into the Church.

Just as Holy Week marks are sharp turn in Jesus life from triumph to tribulation, the Palm Sunday Liturgy makes this pivot with the singing of Psalm 22, which opens with the words "My God, My God why have you abandoned?" These are the same words we hear on Jesus' lips in our reading of the Passion narrative during the Gospel.

With Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and a preview of his crucifixion, we begin Holy Week, longing to celebrate Jesus' glorious Resurrection.

 Return to Holy Week.
