First Communion

Eucharist is the second of the three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism and Confirmation) which complete an individual's membership to the Catholic Community. This Sacrament is commonly called Communion and celebrates the real presence of Christ in the bread, wine, and gathered community.

Regular participation in the Eucharist is encouraged for all Catholics 7 years and older. First Communion typically occurs in a child's second grade year.

First Eucharist / First Communion preparation is a one year process.  If you would like your child to receive their first Eucharist, in addition to attending the formation session for First Communion, they must be enrolled in either the Faith Formation PREP classes or attend a Catholic grade school.  See the Faith Formation, First Communion tab for more information.  Contact Will Marsh at 937-252-9919 ext. 208 for more information.
