IMMACULATE CONCEPTION YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

Mission Statement

The Immaculate Conception Young Adult Group is a community of young people ages 21-35 who desire to respond to the call of discipleship in the contemporary age. This community strives to know God through Scripture and prayer; to know the Church through Tradition and Teaching; to know ourselves through a desire to live a life of holiness in imitation of Christ; to know each other through community building and social activities; and to know our neighbors through service.

ICYA ministry is based on the 5 Pillars

• Revolves around Scripture, Prayer, Discipleship
• Includes Bible study, Mass, Adoration

• Includes Church Teaching, Tradition, social justice issues, Church in society, hot topics
• What does it mean to be a Catholic young adult?

• Revolves around everyday application of faith, Reflection, “living a life of holiness”
• Includes faith sharing, life experiences

• Revolves around Community Building activities
• Includes social events, retreats

• Includes service, mission trips, fundraising

Each week, there will be a focus on a different pillar of the group, for example:

• Week 1: God (Bible Study)
• Week 2: Church (Reading/Discussing official Church documents)
• Week 3: Self (Faith sharing/Discussion)
• Week 4: Each other (Game night)
• Service: Once/month on a Saturday

ICYA Meeting Schedule for January—March

(All Meetings take place at 7:00 PM each Monday, in the Young Adult Room in the Immaculate Conception Church basement).

Each pillar has a group of leaders that will coordinate those meetings. If you would like to lead a meeting or have an idea for a meeting, please contact the leaders of the pillar that best fits your topic.
