Presented by Fr. Satish Joseph, Ph.D.
The “Our Father” is more than just a prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. The prayer is also an insight into the thought, life, prayer, theology and spirituality of Jesus. Through reflections, group discussions, communal dinners, and prayers, this six-week series will lead us not only to a deeper understanding of the Lord’s prayer but also give us deeper insights into the heart of Jesus. This has implications for Christian discipleship today.

Lent is an opportunity to hear God’s call for true conversion and love of our neighbor.
Archbishop Casey’s February 1, 2026 letter acknowledges the increasingly divisive and unsettling times facing our country and world, especially for those on the margins—particularly migrants, immigrants, and refugees who find themselves challenged and facing an uncertain future. He urges us to reflect on who we are as people of faith and to serve as a counterpoint to the world’s division.
Many of our migrant, immigrant, and refugee brothers and sisters live with fear and uncertainty about separation, employment, healthcare, and meeting basic needs. Rooted in the Gospel call to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, care for the sick, and visit the imprisoned (cf. Mt. 25:35-36), the 2026 Lenten Almsgiving project will provide emergency assistance to migrant, immigrant, and refugee families struggling to afford essentials such as groceries, utilities, and housing. Funds will be distributed after careful assessment, with each family eligible for assistance once within a twelve-month period to help as many people as possible.
You may contribute to the Almsgiving Project in multiple ways:
by check, (made out to the parish) mailed to the parish offices, or placed in the collection basket either in an almsgiving envelope or with “almsgiving” written on the memo line.
by cash, in the collection basket inside an almsgiving envelope or another envelope with “almsgiving” clearly labeled on it
online through ParishSoft Giving and select "Lenten Almsgiving" from the drop-down menu
May we be inspired this Lenten season to walk alongside our sisters and brothers in their time of distress. Thank you in advance for your generous response to the needs of these parish and school families.
