Contemplative Spirit for the Active Life: A 2025 Lenten Series
Facilitated by Fr. Satish Joseph Ph.D.
Fridays from March 7 to April 11 at 6:30 pm in Immaculate Conception in MSH (lower level)
Our lives are lived over many years, in a myriad of situations, in various locations, in multiple relationships, working multiple jobs, managing numerous challenges, facing a variety of emotions, and amidst everything, keeping our faith in a God has created us and endowed us with a soul. Isn’t it true that despite all the time, effort, and resources we invest in living a meaningful life on earth, our ultimate goal is to be with God in eternity? How do we maintain an eternal glance while we live this temporal life? Jesus has the answer. No! Jesus IS the answer.
Lenten Series 2025 (six Fridays of Lent) will propose Jesus as the “contemplative par excellence” who also led an active life. Jesus’ forty days in the desert, (the basis of Christian Lenten season and practices), is where we see his contemplative spirit at its best. We can learn much about living our complex lives from Jesus, who lived an even more complex life, but with his eyes fixed on the eternal goal in a spirit of contemplation. Lenten Series 2025 will focus on the meaning of an active life lived in a contemplative spirit.
Each evening will begin with dinner at 6:30pm, followed by reflection by Fr. Satish Joseph, and a small group discussion. The cost is $10. Attendance each Friday will enhance the benefits of the Series. Register at: https://membership.faithdirect.net/events/org/796.
