All of the choirs at Immaculate Conception have open enrollment all year, but joining in the fall is ideal. Read on to learn more about the wonderful musical ministries we offer! Please reach out to our Music Coordinator, Madeleine Demetriades for more information on any of these groups.
Music Accompanying Sunday Mass
Saturday, 4:30 pm Mass—Traditional Choir
Rehearsal is at 3:30 pm in the sanctuary. No experience necessary - just a love of lifting your voice for the Lord! We sing a blend of new and old favorites from the Gather 4 hymnal, as well as special choral anthems from time to time.
Sunday, 9:00 am Mass—Immaculate Conception Spanish Choir
Rehearsal is on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. We sing new and old favorites from the Flor y Canto hymnal. Ability to read music is not required. We warm up on Sundays at 8:15 am. We are accompanied by guitar, rhythm guitar, upright bass, violin, alto saxophone and trumpet.
Sunday, 11:00 am Mass—Traditional Choir
Rehearsal is on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm downstairs in the Brinkmoeller room. All are welcome! Ability to read music and previous experience in choir settings are pluses but not required. We warm up on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am downstairs in the Brinkmoeller room. We sing a blend of new and old favorites from the Gather 4 hymnal, as well as special choral anthems from time to time. We are accompanied by the piano, organ, flute, violin, guitar and accordion.
Sunday, 11:00 am Mass—Immaculate Conception Children's Choir
Rehearsal is on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm downstairs in the Brinkmoeller room. All children grades 1-8 are welcome! Ability to read music is a plus but not required. They sing on a monthly basis for the Sunday, 11:00 am mass, from September through May.
Sunday 5:00 pm Mass - Rock Mass
Band rehearsal is on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. Choir rehearsal is on Sundays at 3pm. Choir + band rehearses Sunday at 3:45 pm. This group incorporates a wide variety of contemporary Christian music and is accompanied by electric guitars, electric bass, drums, piano, synthesizer and flutes, as well as a praise choir. We also include songs from Spirit and Song and the Gather hymnals.
Music Accompany other Masses & Services
Singing at Funerals:
Rehearsal is usually one hour prior to the funeral. We sing songs that are selected by the family. It is accompanied on piano and organ.
